Burnt Noodle - Next Exit (2006, US, psychedelic)
Tuesday, May 12, 2009, 12:55 AM - Music, - US, English
Paul Lamb sent me a cd of his band Burnt Noodle. A real gem. Very nice 1969 improvisations, based on well composed songs. Most tracks start with a song and ends in a long improv. Listen to it. I can hear influences of Jimi Hendrix (Electric Ladyland), Amon Düül II, Doctor John the Night Tripper and Ginger Baker's Air Force.
There are even videos on YouTube: Jim Meets the Space Aliens and Day by Day.

1 bipolar [6:01]
2 day by day [5:24]
3 on & on [10:54]
4 road flick [8:35]
5 uncap your brain [6:32]
6 jim meets the space aliens [14:54]

I wish more people would send me cd's like this one...

[Listen low quality]

I found this between my old video tapes.
'The sun does rise' and 'Amor' at 'Later with Jools Holland'.
I don't now which year, but probably 1994.

Dodelijk materiaal en kortegolfklanken
Wednesday, February 11, 2009, 02:31 PM - Music, - NL, Personal, Nederlands

Fashion - Product Perfect CD (2008, UK/US, new wave)
Sunday, November 23, 2008, 11:38 AM - Music, - UK, - US, English
In an old post I gave up hope to ever get the first fashion lp on cd. To my surprise Luke James, the singer of the band, mailed me a couple of weeks ago that he was releasing this cd.

There are different (single?) versions of Fashion and Bike Boys on the cd.
You can buy it from his MySpace page http://www.myspace.com/fashionlukesky for only $10 + $2,50 p&p.
He lives in California now, the lucky bastard.

1 Product Perfect [3:51]
2 Die in the West [4:13]
3 Red, Green & Gold [4:49]
4 Burning Down [3:33]
5 Big John [2:01]
6 Hanoi Annoys Me [2:56]
7 The Innocent [2:30]
8 Citinite [5:22]
9 Fashion [2:53]
10 Don't Touch Me [2:59]
11 Bike Boys [5:27]
12 Technofascist [3:39]

A rare tracks cd has soon to be followed, as a cd with brand new songs will.

Ryuichi Sakamoto featuring Thomas Dolby - Field Work (1985, JP/UK, electronic)
Saturday, October 25, 2008, 11:04 PM - Music, - JP, - UK, English
Quite a catchy song done by Ryuichi Sakamoto in cooperation with Thomas Dolby.
The back side contains fifteen minutes of out of sync / random synth loops: Ryuichi's machines solo. It is used in the Field Work clip as background music at the beginning and the end.

1 Field Work [6:00]
2 Exhibition [15:29]

Not shared anymore. Complaints received.
